A few weeks ago I delivered an online workshop to one of our regional IBD support groups here in NZ. I’m delighted that I recorded it and now I can share it with anyone that needs it!
If you think you or someone you know would benefit from this workshop, please feel free to join in by clicking the link below.
The workshop itself is an hour long but our discussion went on for over another hour. It was great to be able to answer any questions, hear people’s stories and what resonated with everyone.
Stress has been proven to be a key promoting and relapsing factor for Inflammatory Bowel Disease so it is vital to learn how to understand and manage our own stress response as part of our treatment plan.
Studies show that practicing mindfulness can help both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients with improvements in quality of life, anxiety and depression.
With limited medication options, stress and wellness management and habit change has become my primary focus over the last few years.
I have been practicing mindfulness myself for over 4 years and it has helped me get a sense of control back over my body and how I live my life. It helps me manage my stress, become more aware of my body and bring my flare-ups from unruly to manageable. It has bought me precious time to learn more about my body, what works and doesn’t work for it, make the changes I need and begin healing.
In this workshop we look at:
– What is stress?
– How stress impacts IBD
– What is Mindfulness?
– How Mindfulness can help you manage your stress & IBD
– Some Mindfulness Practices
If you have any questions or would like to share what you resonated with in this workshop, please feel free to let us know in the comments below or you can email me privately at contact@racheloboyle.com.
Happy healing,
Rachel x
